HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN RACING: I started coming to the Rockford Speedway when I was about 9 when my parents and some of my siblings worked there. (Whereupon I found out that my 3rd grade teachers husband raced at the Rockford Speedway, Tom Gille.) I started selling souvenirs and programs in the stands soon thereafter with John Deery. When I turned 16 I wanted to race, but it wasn't until I was 18 that I spent my first summer going around in circles at Rockford Speedway.
MOST MEMORABLE RACING EXPERIENCE: My most memorable experience so far is when I launched my hornet 4 feet into the air during a heat race. When I landed I shattered my left front strut and one of my engine mounts. I pulled into the pits and changed my wheel while my brother ran home and picked up another engine mount. I changed out the engine mount but there was no time to change the shattered strut so I raced the feature on a broken left front strut.
MOST EMBARRASSING RACING EXPERIENCE: The last race of the season for me in 2005 was a long enduro race. I spent a lot of time preparing for the race and I became extremely excited to participate. However, the first turn of the first lap someone spun in front of me and when I checked up I was hit and slammed into the wall. My rear end was pushed over about 2 inches and my fuel lines were severed. Needless to say, I was out of the race a little sooner then I had hoped.
RACING AWARDS AND HONORS: None as of yet, but I plan on changing that this season!
HOBBIES: I enjoy photography and working on cars.
I plan on taking my racing career far but I need to get some seat time first. I know I can race and win. I hope someday to make it up the ranks in NASCAR, but for now I am taking it day by day.
